Santa Teresa Little League News

Welcome to Santa Teresa Little League

To the families of Oak Grove and Oak Ridge Little Leagues:

It is with great excitement that we are announcing the combination of Oak Grove and Oak Ridge Little Leagues, a move we believe will establish a premier youth baseball organization in the South San Jose community.

Beginning with the fall 2014 season, the two leagues will be known as Santa Teresa Little League, and will incorporate the boundaries of both Oak Ridge and Oak Grove little leagues.

The decision to merge has been discussed for the past few years and this spring the Board of Directors for both leagues overwhelmingly approved the move after discussing the pros and cons at great length.

For the past several years, Oak Ridge and Oak Grove little leagues have played against each other in the AAA and majors level and combined players to field teams at the 13-14 and 15-16 age groups. The combination will allow us to regularly field 6 to 8 competitive teams at the majors level (primarily ages 11-12) and strengthen our program for kids ages 13-16 who wish to continue playing baseball beyond the traditional Little League age (12). Our younger levels will flourish as well. Our programs for our T-ball through AAA levels will continue, as we add resources to our already strong programs.

The combination will also allow the league to strengthen its financial footing and invest more money into improving our already excellent fields. Oak Ridge LL completed construction of a fenced-in T-Ball field this spring, which will now be used by all teams in Santa Teresa LL. Oak Grove LL supported a renovation of the Frost T-ball/Single A field this year, and construction on the field at Allen will be completed for the 2015 seasons, allowing all levels to play there as well.

We are currently taking registration for the fall and spring baseball season. We are holding an early-bird registration for the 2015 spring season, where families can save $25 on the regular cost.

Please visit our new website at www.stlittleleague.org, to get more information on registration for fall 2014 and spring 2015 seasons.

We are both very excited about this change, and are looking forward to the future as a combined league.
