It takes a Community to put on a Baseball Game

Game Days are the most important part of everything we do as a Little League. It’s where all of the fun happens and all of the memories are made. All families are required to help out on game days. These requirements are separate from the Volunteering Program, and assigned on a per team basis for each game.

Game Day Roles

  • Umpire (Umpires are assigned from teams all other divisions for AAA Games & Up)
  • Snack Shack - Assigned by Home Team
  • Field Prep
  • Field Clean-up
  • Scorekeeper (Game Changer) - Assigned by Home Team
  • Pitch Counter - Assigned by Home Team
  • Scoreboard Operator - Assigned by Home Team
  • Garbage Duty (Each Team is responsible for emptying Garbage near their dugout after every game, Home Team, covers Snack Shack Garbage Cans)

Umpire Assignments

Without umpires, there will be no games. Each Team is assigned to cover umpire assignments for games in other divisions. Umpire assignments are also a TEAM assignment, not a MANAGER assignment. One plate and one base umpire are required for every game in AAA and above. Each team will be assigned umpire assignments per season. These assignments are NOT optional. Managers and Team Parents will work with parents to fill these assignments.

EARN 3 VOLUNTEERING POINTS: Volunteering points can now be earned for covering ANY shift that is not part of a team’s assignments. These volunteering umpire shifts are worth three (3) volunteering points regardless of plate or base assignment.

UMPIRE BUYOUT: In the event a team cannot cover an assignment through it’s own team or other volunteers, STLL runs an Umpire buyout program. Buyout fees are set at the beginning of each season and payment of the buyout fee to an Umpire is the responsibility of the team, and not handled by the league.
